Honestly, I feel I am on my very last leg now!
Daughter Gaby had really made the most of her life from the age of four when she was afflicted with Polio. Because of a batch of faulty vaccines she had not been able to be vaccinated. So she ended up with severe breathing difficulties and being paralysed up to her neck. That she lived until she was almost 55 was an immense achievement. We can be very proud of her that she managed to lead a productive life right to the end. She loved life so much despite all her disabilities, and she did some amazing things to overcome these disabilities as much as possible.
For quite a while, before dear husband Peter actually died, I knew, that I had to let him go. It was as simple as that. Towards the end he suffered from advanced bone cancer as well as a serious heart condition. Little did I know, how difficult it would be for me to live completely on my own. But he knew. He told the children how much he worried about me. They tried to comfort him. “We’re going to look after Mum,” they assured him. And they kept their word, the son and the two daughters. They made me as comfortable as possible. I felt really blessed, to have such good children.
However I do live on my own now, and there is a continuous lockdown. It feels, like this lockdown is going to last forever!
