Another August 2022 Aunty Uta Diary

Another morning, another day: How good is that! I am so lucky, each new day is there for me to enjoy! πŸ™‚

So, did I enjoy yesterday? Indeed I did. It was a Thursday. After another beautiful walk in the park behind my house, I took a long, lovely warm shower, when daughter Monika rang to ask me, whether I’d like to be picked up, to go out for lunch. I happily agreed, that she could pick me up in about one hour.

When Monika arrived, little Evie was fast asleep in the car. Monika dropped me off at the restaurant. It looked like all the parking spots near the restaurant were taken. While I was waiting at a table inside, I thought it would take a while for Monika to park a bit further away. But no, she appeared very soon with Evie on her hand. She said, just as she was about to leave to look for parking somewhere else, some people did leave a restaurant parking spot, and Monika was could take it! πŸ™‚

She had no trouble getting Evie to wake up. In the restaurant Evie was surprised, to see me there with my rollator! Monika asked Evie, what she thought, how great-grandma had been able to get to the restaurant. Well, this gave the little one something to think about, since she had no idea, that I had been in Monika’s car while she was asleep! πŸ™‚

It is such a pleasure, to see Evie from time to time. In a few weeks she turns already three! She reminds me of the time, when I was her age. πŸ™‚

Soon Monika’s daughter Natasha arrived for lunch at the restaurant. She had been working. Her next shift was to be at 2,30 PM. She told me, that she had started an online TAFE course, that would after one year entitle her to a certain healthcare certificate. Indeed, she is very happy, that she can now improve her healthcare qualifications! She turns 31 on the 11th of next month, that is two days before Evie’s birthday, which is on the 13th of September. Evie loves her Grandma Monika and Aunty Tash. πŸ™‚

I had vegetables and Jasmine Rice plus a very hot Thai sauce. And of course some nice Chinese Tea! We have been regular customers at this Thai/Chinese Restaurant for nearly thirty years. We like their friendly service. It is a Family Restaurant.

  1. We were lucky, Chris, we could spend some time in the afternoon outside on my lovely deck. There was no wind, but a bit of sunshine. Evie is already a fast runner and enjoyed herself running in the backyard from one end to the other, and then back again. And she wanted Grandma Monika to chase her, but Evie could run much faster than Monika! πŸ™‚
