Face the World with a peaceful Mind . . .
The continuation of this verse you can find here:

I published this blog three years ago about a month after the death of our daughter Gabriele.

In response to a comment I wrote:

“These verses helped me to feel more grounded. I could have gone the other way, having been hit with so many disconcerting things during the last few days in connection with the estate of our deceased daughter. So it was wonderful to come across these pics just when I needed them. I decided then on the spur of the moment to share them in my blog. The pics were taken at the beginning of the month when we stopped at the Nan Tien Temple after having picked up our daughter Caroline from a train station. The surroundings of the temple always make us feel good.”

Monday, 10th of August, 2015

We just booked another trip to Berlin for a family reunion, meaning in ten months we are going to be in Berlin with a lot of family members. We are already very excited about this!

The other day we booked a train-trip to Melbourne and return to Dapto. This means, this coming Friday we are going to take the day- train to Melbourne, where we are going to stay with our son Martin. On Monday we travel back home on the Sydney night-train. We are getting off at Moss Vale. From Moss Vale there is a railway bus that takes us down Macquarie Pass to our home-town, Dapto, where we arrive early on Tuesday morning

We are thinking of visiting the Nan Tien Temple some time after our return from Melbourne. We have not been at the temple for quite some time and are very much looking forward to experiencing again its calm and peaceful surroundings.

  1. auntyuta EditThis is what I wrote on the 25th of August 2012 in response to another comment:” . . . . this Nan Tien Temple is just a ten minute drive away from where we live! I think it is the biggest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere. However Peter and I are going to travel to Berlin in two weeks. I hope to do some blogging from over there. You see, we’re going to visit family and friends. It’s a bit mind boggling so soon after Gaby’s passing. However we had done the booking a long time ago. Maybe the diversion is going to be good for us. I’m sure it’s going to be mostly good!
This thing about ‘adversity’, Yes, I think you can let it bring you down, or you face it. I don’t know whether to face it with joy is always possible, but maybe if you accept your fate some kind of joy about life can be always there.
Just think how much adversity Gaby, our beautiful quadriplegic daughter, had to face! If that wasn’t a challenge for her, I don’t know anything. And she managed to find joy in her life!”One of the temple verses that I published three years ago goes like this:‘Accept ADVERSITY with joy in your mind.”

  1. I’m glad, I reblogged this post, Carolyn.
Our daughter passed away more than ten years ago. And we had to accept it. We had earlier on booked a trip to Berlin. So, what we had to do was, to go overseas soon after Gaby’s death in 2012. It says ‘Accept ADVERSITY with joy in your mind.” It turned out, that an older cousin of mine died, while we were in Germany. We went to her funeral, meetimg once more all her lovely family. So there was sadness mixed with joy! 🙂
Thanks for commenting, dear Carolyn! 🙂

    HUGS, Uta ❤
